Lawn Turf

Lawn Turf

Coronet's soil-less turf is ideally suited for domestic lawns. The seed mix combines top quality varieties to give a superior finish that is hardwearing and easy to manage. With minimal maintenance the turf will provide a long lasting lawn that can be enjoyed for many years.

The process of growing the turf produces one of the easiest to handle and cleanest turfs on the market. Because the roots of the grass do not grow into the soil during production due to an impermeable membrane, they grow laterally to create a mass of interweaving roots. These are very tough and help to give the turf its unique strength. Conventional soil grown turf is cut from the surface of the soil and so leaves most of its root material in the ground. Coronet Turf retains 100% of its roots to give a number of benefits.

The main advantage is that the turf will not fall to bits when it is handled so there is very little wastage. Other advantages include a very fast establishment time for the turf, once it is laid on the soil. Practically speaking this means that it is quicker to get growing and so quicker to use and enjoy. It is also very clean, even cleaner than washed turf, as it has no soil at all and the growing medium is completely bound within the root mass. The overall strength allows larger roll sizes than conventional turf and so speeds up the laying time, and the growing medium is lighter than soil. The laying itself is easy and could be compared to laying slabs of carpet; as long as they are butted up to their neighbour the joins will be virtually invisible within a week of laying.

Maintenance is minimal, although it is essential to water the turf while it establishes. After that regular mowing, occasional fertilising and watering during extended dry spells will ensure that the lawn looks outstanding.
